Show your support for the KNS Board

Recently we all saw on Hero that the KNS board has been dealing with some difficult issues. We encourage you to look at the communication from the school on Hero dated 21 May.

Their efforts to create a more diverse Board and address the lack of Māori voice at a governance level ought to be commended.

Let’s get behind them and let them know that their steadfast and poised response is exactly what we want to see from our school leadership.

Add your name to our letter of support (text below) which will be delivered in time for the next Board hui on 11 June.

When you sign, change.org will ask if you want to chip in money to help promote the petition. Please just ignore that bit - we're not after any funding

Dear Board Chair,

We are a group of whānau and community members affiliated to Karori Normal School.

We wish to commend the KNS board on their handling of the issues recently communicated to the school community. We support their strategic direction for the school.

We also wish to publicly show our support for Board member Nathan Smith and the expertise and cultural perspective he brings to the board for the benefit of all children at KNS.

The overwhelming majority of the Board has demonstrated their commitment to the kind of values that make us proud to be part of this community and affiliated to Karori Normal School.

The signatories of this letter would appreciate it if this letter was circulated to Board members.

Ngā mihi nui
