My brothers and I are working to establish the Empower Tennis Center, an indoor tennis community center in the greater Seattle area, inspired by our family’s rich legacy in sports and community service. Our grandfather, Khalid, an Olympic volleyball player, immigrated to the U.S. from India in 1975 and became Assistant Coach for the Seattle Smashers in 1978, helping grow volleyball in the Pacific Northwest. Following his example, our parents, Afshan and Fazal Khan, instilled in us a passion for using sports to unite and uplift communities.

The Empower Tennis Center will focus on providing opportunities for underprivileged youth and marginalized communities to grow, connect, and thrive through tennis. Our goal is to create a welcoming space that fosters personal development, develops healthy minds and bodies, builds relationships, and inspires a sense of belonging. The center will also feature a café and pickleball courts, serving as a vibrant community hub.
