Scarborough and the surrounding areas have waited far too long for a school that truly meets the needs of neurodivergent children. Havenswood Trust, through our “A School for Every Child” campaign, is working to establish a pioneering specialist school for children who are capable of learning at age-related levels but who cannot thrive in mainstream settings and are currently overlooked by complex-needs provision. Right now, these children have no suitable local option - they are forced into long daily journeys, homeschooling, or miss out on education altogether.
