Free for all. Period.

A 2018 survey revealed that nearly 1 in 5 menstruators in Scotland cannot afford period products and resort to using rags and old clothes.

Period poverty impacts the most vulnerable communities the most. Low-income families, refugees, asylum-seekers and homeless people are yet to benefit from free period products. Together we can change this.

No one should have to suffer the indignity and shame of period poverty and what’s more, no one should be turning a blind eye to this issue.

We need this campaign to reach as far and wide as possible. This bill would mark a crucial step in ending period poverty and championing the fundamental values of health, dignity, and equality.

Scotland has historically been at the forefront of this movement, providing free period products in all educational institutions. We want Scotland to continue to be pioneers in the fight against period poverty.

By demonstrating support cross all sections of Scottish society, we believe that together we can push this bill beyond just the initial stages, and into passing, ensuring that people no longer have to suffer the indignity of period poverty.
