Support Anti sexual harassment act of 1995 (RA 7877)

Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 is an Act Declaring sexual harassment unlawful in the imployment,education or training environment. The conduct covered by this anti-harassment policy is broader than the legal definition of unlawful harassment and includes hostile or abusive conduct based on race,sex, religion (including pregnancy,gender identity or sexual orientaion,and stereotyping.Sexual Harassment has a consequences and effect to an individual,especially for those people who are the victims of this kind of harassment. The victims can suffer a significant psychological effects,including anxiety,sleep disorders,lowerd self-esteem,depression,headaches and nausea. In addition,the effect of this harassment to the student victims,are: (a)Experience physical and psychological distress,(b) they feel pressured to drop a class and etc. In overall,sexual harassment causes a tense and unproductive and learning environment.

The purpose of this policy is to prevent and eliminate harassment in the workplace by supervisors,managers,co-workers,contractors,vendors and any other individual.This act is approved by: (Sgd. Edgardo J. Angara (President of Senate),(Sgd. Jose De Venecia JR.(Speaker of the house of representatives), and (Sgd. Fidel V. Ramos (President of the Philippines) in February 14, 1995. This Act which is a consolidation of House  Bill No.9425 and Senate on February 8,1995. This act shall be known as the "Anti- sexual Harassment act of 1995. Any person who violates the provisions of this Act shall, upon conviction, be penalized by imprisonment of not less than one (1) month nor more than six (6) months, or a fine of not less than Ten thousand pesos (P 10,000) nor more than Twenty thousand pesos (P 20,000), or both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court (Presidential management staff/GOV PH). And as a student and the owner of this petition I would like you to support this policy, for the safety and protection of all people, especially women,youth,and workers in our country. And also I want that the people in our country are having respect for each other. I'm inviting you to help me fight for the human rights and dignity of everyone. And I hope that after reading this petition you will learn to appreciate others,and all the people we meet even if we don't know them. Respect each other. I hope that at the same time as what our country is going through,we will continue to realize and maintain the safety of every individual in our country.
