Support Texas Student Athletes

The Issue

How is it possible that a player can win a TEXAS STATE title when they have only been in the USA for a few months?

If you are an American player in Texas and you transfer schools you are ineligible to play varsity sports for a year.  This is the same if a player moves from another State. Americans are not allowed to play in varsity high school sports for a full year. If you are a foreign exchange student you only have to be enrolled in a Texas school for 15 days - per UIL rules.

The rules for Americans are in place to prevent recruiting. The athletes and their schools rely of UIL to keep the playing field level.  UIL failed  to do this with their foreign exchange student policies or their lack or due diligence.  Opportunities are being taken away from Americans because this loophole is allowing recruiting through foreign exchange programs.

Help support Texas Student Athletes by signing the petition to hold foreign players to the same standards Americans have to abide by.  Specifically in individual sports.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT FOR TEXAS STUDENT ATHLETES!!!

*Special notes: THIS petition is specifically to hold international players to the same standards that Americans have to abide by to prevent recruiting.  This petition is also specific to individual sports.  While a FES can be a contributing factor to a team, an individual sport takes opportunities away from student athletes.  Also, several grievances have been filed to have specific players disqualified due to their record and extensive elite training in their home country. This petition is separate from that, to focus on changes forward.  TEXAS STATE titles should go to Texans.  #BestInTEXAS #UIL #Changes
