Support Survivors; Close the Gaps

Support Survivors; Close the Gaps
The Issue
My name is Krista. And I’m a survivor of human trafficking.
For eleven months, I was held hostage, manipulated, and controlled by someone I trusted for 25 years — trafficked from Texas to Washington.
The current federal definition of trafficking ignores the realities of survivors like me. It doesn’t recognize the psychological manipulation, the domestic nature of abuse, or the invisible chains that keep survivors trapped.
I’m fighting to change that. To make sure the law protects survivors from all forms of trafficking — not just those that fit a narrow, outdated definition.
This amendment will close dangerous loopholes and recognize that trafficking isn’t just about crossing state lines or physical force — it’s about control, coercion, and domestic betrayal.
Please sign this petition to help me and countless others get the justice and protection we deserve
