We’re Demanding Real Change:

1. Lower the Legal BAC Limit

   Reduce the legal BAC limit in Texas from 0.08% to 0.05% to align with evidence based deterrence standards.

2. Bond Reform for DWI Offenses

   Establish a minimum bond of   $150,000 for felony DWI offenses.

    Require zero bond eligibility for any DWI offense involving a fatality until formal indictment and trial setting.

3. Felony Reclassification

  Reclassify intoxication manslaughter from a second-degree felony to a first-degree felony when aggravating factors are present, including fleeing the scene or the presence of minors.

4. Mandatory Chemical Testing

  Require automatic and immediate toxicology testing in all crashes involving serious bodily injury or fatality.

5. Elimination of Probation in Fatal DWI Cases

 Prohibit deferred adjudication or probation for defendants convicted of DWI offenses resulting in death.

6. Strengthened Enforcement of the Texas Dram Shop Act
