We are seeking your support on an important issue that concerns our children and their education at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center (“RKB”). 

RKB is a place of learning and growth that has been fortunate to have a principal like Mr. Scott Saperstein for the last 7, almost 8 years. His leadership and dedication have been invaluable for our students and the RKB staff. However, we are extremely disappointed to learn that our principal is now being transferred to another school.

Mr. Saperstein is a crucial pillar of the RKB community. He not only oversees administrative tasks but also demonstrates personal interest in the academic, emotional, and social development of our children. His commitment has resulted in significant positive outcomes at our school. Under Mr. Saperstein’s leadership, RKB has maintained its A-rating since 2000; RKB has been designated as a School of Excellence for the last 5 years; and our students’ assessment scores exceed county and statewide averages in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. As a PTA, Mr. Saperstein has gone above and beyond to show his continued support of our efforts to improve RKB and make it the very best it can be for our children. The PTA’s accomplishments are a reflection of the collaboration we have with our amazing administration, led by Mr. Saperstein. 

However, there is so much more that we can do with Mr. Saperstein leading the way, and we do not want RKB to suffer any disruption to its continuous progress, improvement, and well-being of our student community and staff. 

You can support Mr. Saperstein remaining principal of RKB in several ways. First, you can sign this petition, demonstrating your support and desire for Mr. Saperstein to remain in his role as Principal of RKB. Second, you can attend the Miami-Dade County School Board meeting on June 18th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. and speak on the issue. Lastly, you can e-mail the Miami-Dade County School Board Members and express your desire for Mr. Saperstein to remain at RKB.
