Support Rosenfeld Ranch in its fight for agriculture rights

The Issue

The Rosenfeld Ranch began in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, as a small farm in my backyard. What started with a handful of animals and a vision quickly grew into something much bigger—a place where people could connect with animals, nature, and one another.

Over the next several years, through hard work, dedication, and a passion for agriculture, the farm continued to grow. In April 2023, I relocated and expanded the operation to Howell Township, allowing us to serve more families and provide more educational and agricultural opportunities. By 2024, The Rosenfeld Ranch had become an established destination known throughout the community for its commitment to agriculture, animal care, family experiences, and education.

Since opening in Howell, the ranch has welcomed thousands of visitors, provided educational opportunities for children, created meaningful animal interactions, and become a destination that many families return to year after year.

Our commitment to the community extends beyond the farm itself. During our busiest seasons, we have worked closely with local law enforcement, including hiring off-duty Howell police officers to assist with traffic and public safety. We have also welcomed members of the Howell Police Department and local Fire Department, along with their families, to enjoy the ranch and experience firsthand what has been built here. Giving back to the community has always been at the heart of our mission, and we take pride in creating a place that brings people together while supporting the agricultural traditions of Howell Township.

Today, The Rosenfeld Ranch at 184 Kent Road continues to grow as an agricultural operation dedicated to farming, agricultural education, and community engagement. We are seeking to protect our ability to operate and expand in accordance with New Jersey’s Right to Farm Act and the rights afforded to commercial farms throughout the state. The ranch provides hands-on agricultural experiences, educational programs, animal interactions, and opportunities for families to disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature.

Beyond farming, the ranch has become a valued community resource. Families create lasting memories here, children learn where food and animals come from, and visitors experience a side of Howell’s agricultural heritage that is becoming increasingly rare.

At a time when farmland continues to disappear to development, The Rosenfeld Ranch is helping preserve Howell’s agricultural character, maintain open space, support local agriculture, and educate future generations about farming and animal care.

We respectfully ask for your support in helping protect our ability to continue operating as a commercial farm and serving the community. By signing this petition, you are supporting agriculture, farmland preservation, educational opportunities, local small businesses, and a farm that has touched the lives of countless families.

Together, we can ensure that The Rosenfeld Ranch remains a place where agriculture, education, animals, and community come together for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Shimmy Rosenfeld
