Support Repairs of Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts

The Issue

Tennis is a lifelong sport enjoyed by players of all ages and ability levels.

The Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts are the ONLY public tennis courts in Fairbanks.

They are used throughout the summer for casual play, tennis instruction and competitive play. The courts are also home to high school tennis teams for 4 high schools in Fairbanks and host the Region VI Regional HS Tennis Tournament.

The Tennis Courts were last reconstructed approximately 15 years ago. The surface of the courts is cracking and has been sealed on several occasions since. The net posts are tilting in from the tension of the nets and have been repaired on one occasion already. Cracks and swales on the surface impairs the playability of the courts. Parking has never been clearly defined and the courts do not meet accessibility standards. This project would bring the courts and parking up to standard.

Now is the time to resurface the courts to be able to enjoy them in the years to come.
