I owe my gratitude to all senior Allopathic doctors for the vast knowledge and skills they imparted to us during our medical education. As a Homeopathy doctor based in Maharashtra, alongside my colleagues in Ayurveda, Unani, and other AYUSH practices, we have consistently acknowledged and respected the role of our esteemed educators, all of whom guided us through the rigorous curriculum of MBBS/BHMS/BAMS.

However, there is a pressing issue at hand that threatens the harmony and collaborative spirit that we have treasured for years. The protest against the registration of Community Counselling and Modern Pharmacology (CCMP)-qualified BHMS/AYUSH doctors in the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) is not just an obstruction to our rights but undermines our collective efforts in healthcare.

Historically, during national crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and unfortunate incidents of attacks on healthcare professionals, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has repeatedly turned to us AYUSH practitioners for our support. We have consistently stood by IMA, participating in protests, public health duties, resource mobilizations, and other critical activities. We answered these calls without hesitation, driven by our unwavering commitment to public health and solidarity among all medical professionals.

The hesitance to register CCMP-qualified AYUSH doctors in MMC is shortsighted and fails to acknowledge the comprehensive training and significant contributions that we have made and continue to make to the healthcare system in Maharashtra and beyond.

Registering AYUSH doctors in MMC is not just about formal acknowledgment; it is about empowering us to serve more effectively, legally, and ethically in this evolving medical landscape. The integration of AYUSH practitioners into the broader medical framework is vital for providing holistic care, reaching underserved populations, and supplementing the existing healthcare infrastructure.
