Support Princeton Fire & Rescue- Princeton, MN

The Issue

I am a concerned citizen of Princeton, MN, deeply troubled by the current state of our fire department. The vote of no confidence towards head fire chief Ron Lawrence and the prevalent unsafe working conditions are alarming.

Our brave firefighters face inadequate gear, trucks, and training - a situation that is not only dangerous but also unacceptable.

The budgetary concerns add to this distressing scenario. It is disconcerting to learn that while maintenance and gear have been neglected for an entire year, the chief was given a raise. This mismanagement of funds needs immediate rectification.

This issue hits close to home because if our fire department leaves due to these unsafe conditions, response times will increase significantly due to reliance on other departments. This could potentially lead to skyrocketing insurance rates due to increased risk factors.

Our taxes are meant for maintaining essential services like our fire department and roads among others. We deserve better than this negligence towards safety standards in Princeton.

We demand immediate action from relevant authorities - improved working conditions for our firefighters; responsible budget allocation; resignation of the chief, and more attention from city council towards public safety issues and fire department situation in Princeton, MN.

On February 8th, 2024 a large number of firefighters will be turning in there pagers if something doesn’t change. Please sign this petition if you care about the wellbeing of your community's first responders and want safer streets in Princeton!
