Support Personalized Veterinary Behavior and Rehabilitation's Right to Operate Peacefully

The Issue

My name Dr Akshay A Verdema, DVM, CCRP, cVMA. I am the owner of Personalized Veterinary Behavior and Rehabilitation, a small veterinary clinic in Holly, MI. For over 5.5 years, we have been dedicated to treating complicated cases with utmost care and passion. Our clinic operates only three days per week on average, seeing a limited number of patients in hospital each day. We still have a large house call volume, so we are not even there a lot of the week.

Despite our minimal operational hours and patient volume, our landlord has blown a supposed noise issue out of proportion, claiming that a dog barked a few minutes yesterday. He threatened to terminate our lease in his first ever communication with me. This is a day that an assistant only saw one patient in clinic for 15 min (I verified that the second patient was cancelled). It's important to note that he was fully aware he was renting his property to a veterinary clinic - one that does not even currently do overnight hospitalization.

Our commitment is towards providing quality healthcare for animals in need while maintaining peace within our community. We believe it’s crucial for us to continue serving the pets and their families who rely on us for their veterinary needs.

We urge you all to stand with us in reaffirming our right to conduct business peacefully without undue interference or exaggeration of issues by the landlord. Your support will help ensure that we can continue providing essential services for animals in need in Holly, MI.
