Support Parking Lot Addition for Riverside Animal Hospital

The Issue

January 8th, 2025

Dear Neighbors, Clients and Friends,

I am writing to you in hopes that you will take a few minutes of your time to read about our proposal for additional parking for Riverside Animal Hospital and support us in this project if so inclined.

Riverside Animal Hospital has been a part of the Allouez community since 1996. We currently serve the needs of over 7,000 clients and over 14,000 pets in our area. We see approximately 120 clients per day. We would like to continue to remain here for many years to come.

Due to a significant increase in pet ownership since 1996 and in particular over the last 4 years, we have outgrown our current parking spaces and many of our employees park behind the clinic on Stanton Court to save parking spaces for our clients.

In 2024, we had the opportunity to purchase a piece of property which is adjacent to our current parking lot. This property borders our parking lot, Riverside Drive and Stanton Court.

Over the last 6 months we’ve had discussions with the town, neighbors and clients to work towards a proposal with the end goal of providing additional spaces for our clients and employees, reduce the traffic and parking on Stanton Court while keeping it aesthetically pleasing for the neighbors.

I’d like to share a few highlights of this proposal:

• The address of the parcel is 3110 Stanton Court. Currently there is a berm, sport court and vacant land.

• We are proposing to divide the parcel into two lots. One lot would have the additional parking spaces with a berm to be 90% opaque to the neighbors on Stanton Court and the remaining lot would potentially be listed for sale to anyone interested.

• Less than half of the property would be used for additional parking. The entire lot would NOT be parking spaces.

• The proposed berm provides more screening for the neighbors than what is currently there.

• The remaining lot would remain residential and a home could be built on the property.

• Entry into the new parking spaces will be from Riverside Drive NOT Stanton Court. There will be NO access from Stanton Court

• This proposal would REDUCE traffic and parking on Stanton Court and provide adequate parking for our clients and employees.

We are asking for your support of the proposal to allow us to remain in Allouez to continue to serve the needs of the community. You can do so by:

1. Attend and potentially speak on our behalf at one or both of the upcoming Allouez town meetings.  The first will be held on Monday, January 27th at 6PM, and the second is Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30PM.

2. Reach out to Allouez board members with your support.

3. Sign this petition! We plan to present it to the board to demonstrate our community support.

I thank you in advance for your time and support and appreciate those who have already reached out in support over the last few months.
