I am reaching out with a sincere request for your help and support for someone who has dedicated his life to serving students, families, and our community.

As a former student, I had the privilege of being mentored by Jemal Smith, who has faithfully served as a dean, coach, mentor, and leader at Soundview Academy for Culture and Scholarship in the Soundview community. Throughout his career, he has consistently gone above and beyond his job description, dedicating countless hours to helping students succeed academically, athletically, and personally.

For many of us, he was more than an educator. He was someone who listened when we struggled, encouraged us when we doubted ourselves, and challenged us to become the best versions of ourselves. His impact can be seen in the lives of the students he has guided, the athletes he has coached, and the families he has supported over the years.

As a dynamic and student-centered educational leader, he has worked tirelessly to foster academic excellence, positive behavior, athletic achievement, and personal growth. He has built strong teams, developed successful programs, and created opportunities for students who otherwise may not have had them. His commitment to building a supportive, disciplined, and high-performing school culture has made a lasting difference throughout our community.
