Support Ontario International Graduates: Approve OINP Files and Issue Work Permits

The Issue

Long delays in the Ontario Provincial Nomination Program have left thousands of international graduates in limbo, hundreds jobless because their postgraduate work permits were expiring. Some had to apply for a visitor record, but with no authorization to work, and some,  Unfortunately had to leave Canada.I reached out to the office of Honorable MPP Jess Dixon, Kitchener, South Hespeler, from the Conservative Party of Ontario, and they have agreed to advocate for these International graduates.

This campaign is to support the current OINP Applicants and the international students.

  • Decision on the nomination applications that have been pending for almost 1 year.
  • Provide a Two-Year Province-Specific Work Permit
  • Request for Increased OINP Allocations to Support Ontario Nominees
  • Urgent Appeal for Consistent CEC Draws

Below is a Google Form with information requested by the MPP office. To make the case more compelling and support your applications.

The petition below for change is, requests that the Ontario government support international students.

  1. Provide a Two-year Province Specific Work Permit to all the eligible candidates who have submitted their application for the Ontario Provincial Nomination.

  2. We also requested the Ontario government to reach out to the federal government and request additional allocation for the Ontario provincial nomination program in all provinces, including BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Atlantic provinces recently have received additional allocations, and if Ontario could receive a 1500-2000 addition allocations, which would really help applicants in the OINP nomination program, especially the Human Capital Priorities and Skilled Trades waiting for the decisions to get their nomination.

  3. We also request that the Ontario government reach out to the federal government and request the immigration minister to do consistent CEC Draws. The last three CEC draws were just 1000 very small draws, and the score has been consistently high, with 534. Ontario has a large number of international graduates, high-caliber International graduates who studied in colleges and universities in Ontario and have been working for two or three years, but unfortunately, their postgraduate work permits are expiring, and in spite of having 520 plus CRS scores. They have not been able to get their invitation to apply for permanent residency and will have to leave Canada. Many of them had already left Canada.

My name is Gautham Kolluri. I'm a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. I previously worked as an international student recruitment officer at Conestoga College at Mohawk College.

We also need support to contact your local Canadian Member of Parliament Offices. This is just an online petition and we will ensure to meet every Canadian MP and submit an open letter to support the initiative.
