As fellow residents of Willowsford, we’re reaching out to request your support and signature for a community petition regarding the use of Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights—a modern, tasteful, and discreet lighting option that many of us have installed on our homes.

Why We’re Petitioning
Recently, several of us received notifications stating that these lights may not comply with HOA guidelines and were asked to remove them. We believe that we would like to request HOA to keep up with newer technology lighting like Govee as it aligns with the HOA guidelines and are requesting HOA to interpret the guidelines correctly while also being flexible and forward looking to allow new technology products to be used in the community. Hence we are working to appeal this decision through the proper channels.

These lights are:
• Not string lights (like hanging decorative bulbs)
• Installed flush under gutters, hidden from the street view
• Used only for holidays/festivals, and turned off otherwise
• Controlled via app with adjustable brightness/lumens (10%–100%)
• White wires and bulbs that blend with gutters, barely visible
• Energy-efficient, programmable, and safer than seasonal installations
• A cost-effective alternative—approx. $2,000 versus $8,000–$13,000 for HOA-preferred vendors
