Support New Canaan Butcher Shop's continued operations
The Issue
I have a personal connection with the New Canaan Butcher Shop, as it isn’t just a business to me—it's my store. Situated conveniently in the heart of our community at 12 Burtis Avenue in New Canaan, CT, it has been an integral part of our town for the past four years.
Our butcher shop isn't just a place where people come to buy high-quality meats; it’s a gathering spot where community ties are strengthened. Over the years, we have created a welcoming environment with our patio parking lot and designated entrance, enhancing the experience for our customers and allowing them to engage with each other while supporting a local business.
Unfortunately, the shop’s existence is currently under threat due to potential new terms that may restrict the usage of our patio and entrance, posed by our property handlers, Chase/JPMorgan. This change would not only disrupt our daily operations but also diminish the heartwarming atmosphere that we have worked so hard to establish.
The New Canaan Butcher Shop is more than a store—it is a local landmark. It contributes significantly to the unique character of downtown New Canaan. By maintaining our current operations, we can continue to support local farmers, provide top-quality products, and sustain the livelihoods of our wonderful employees who depend on this establishment. Moreover, keeping our operations intact is vital for the local economy and furthers the push toward supporting small businesses, especially in the face of growing corporate competition.
The success and survival of small businesses like ours critically rely on community backing and understanding from larger corporate partners. We implore Chase/JPMorgan to recognize the importance of local businesses and to support us in our efforts to maintain our beloved community hub.
We respectfully urge the decision-makers at Chase/JPMorgan to allow us to continue our operations as they are. Let us keep the environment vibrant and inviting, as it has always been, for our town.
We kindly ask you to support this petition by signing it. Your signature can make a difference in keeping our butcher shop, a cornerstone of our community, vibrant and fully operational. Thank you for standing with us and for New Canaan.
