We urge the Town of Huntersville to name the new park at 8826 McIlwaine Rd., adjacent to Fire Station No. 4, the Jeff Hager Memorial Park, in honor of Firefighter Jeff Hager—a dedicated first responder, a proud Huntersville resident, and a true servant of the community.

Jeff called Huntersville home and was deeply connected to this town, both as a firefighter and as a neighbor who cared deeply for the people around him. Over the course of 24 years of public service, Jeff bravely protected and served the community as a firefighter with both the Huntersville Fire Department and the Charlotte Fire Department. His selfless dedication made a lasting impact on his fellow firefighters, friends, community, and neighbors.

Tragically, Jeff contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty and passed away on September 10, 2021. His loss was a heartbreaking moment for Huntersville, as he was not only a hero in uniform but also a beloved part of the community.

Naming this park the Jeff Hager Memorial Park would be a lasting tribute to his 24 years of public service, his sacrifice, and his deep love for Huntersville. It would stand as a place where his dedication is remembered and where future generations can learn about his impact.
