About 30 years ago, Square brought us a new type of gameplay with the first Final Fantasy title. Through the years we’ve enjoyed what many would call the best of the Final Fantasy franchise on the Playstation 1 & 2. These are games that have left us feeling accomplished and immersed in the worlds. The secrets including the hidden options within dialogue menus, Moogles, Chocobos, and of course good ol’ Biggs and Wedge re-imagined in every game.

This online campaign, began as small yet powerful requests on Reddit to bring these beautiful games back to the Playstation platform in their new mobile remasters we find on Android, iOS, and even PC. Originally, our goal was to ask Square Enix directly for these titles to be brought to the PS Vita and PS4. We merely go this response:

This reply has not been promising thus far, which is full for this campaign to get as much support to bring these remastered titles to the playstation platform. Not just digitally, but also in physical cartridges and discs. We see titles like Chrono Trigger re-done with simple graphic improvements brought to the Nintendo DS, we see Final Fantasy IX brought to Android/iOS/PC, we’ve seen Kingdom Hearts remastered for the Playstation 4, but we really want to see these re-done games on the Playstation Vita. Sure we have remote play and the Playstation One classics, but it’s a bit unfair to see how beautiful these games are on Android, while we see pixelated textures and a lack of antialiasing graphics on the Vita platform. 

 

We really want these classics on the go, being able to take a road trip to grandma’s house and have an experience that makes us passionate again.

We are here exactly to prove there is still a huge number of dedicated and passionate fans (adult fans too) all over the world who grew up playing those incredible titles and that are itching to play quality Square Enix games again, remastered for a modern audience..

 

What we ask for is Square Enix to listen to the voice of their fans worldwide and consider bringing us those awesome games again, particularly mobile remastered for smartphones to the Playstation Vita.

 

With the touch screen and built in controller, it just makes sense that we see older Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and much much more.

 

We’d also urge Square Enix to bring other recently re-mastered titles for the Playstation 4, such as Kingdom Hearts to our beloved Playstation Vita consoles. It would be exponentially better to have these titles on Physical cartridges (like Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS), in addition to the Digital PSN downloads. Physical titles are important due to the expensive nature of the Playstation Vita memory cards, the cartridges would improve the sales of these titles in that they don’t take up nearly as much space on the memory cards.
