Millcreek Meadows Update!
 
Some great news to bring to everyone in our community and all our supporters!
 
This past ten days we have been having some extremely positive discussions with the new Director of Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. Chris has only been in place for a few weeks and took time to come and visit us, and really understand our mission, plans, and who we are. Our first on site meeting was incredibly positive, not that tough questions weren’t asked of both sides, but we had a very progressive and constructive three hours together on site.
 
I believe we have a path forward and one that will protect the animals, including the foxes, and the legacy here at Millcreek Meadows, whilst the County delivers and meets community needs. We are excited to work with Chris, he really understands the culture and the environment we are working in, and his drive to serve the community matches our own. Together with Derrick Sorensen, the County Lease Manager, I believe we have a county team that is dedicated to seeing a positive relationship develop and it certainly has been that way this past week.
 
One of the important things that has come out of this process is that the County listened to concerned community members, and that should be acknowledged and valued. The new team at SL County Parks and Rec have a large task ahead of them and we are excited to continue the discussions with them for Millcreek Meadows and how we can be a part of the successes in the county.
 
For now, we will be suspending the petition. We sincerely thank you all for your participation in helping us raise our voices and concerns, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We have much more to achieve so we hope you’ll all keep following us and come see us as soon as we’re ready!
