Support Mental Health Services for Immigrant Women in Columbus, Ohio

The Issue

Immigrant women usually experienced trauma, cultural dislocation, and economic difficulties. Moreover, they grapple with language barriers and systemic discrimination, which further hinder their access to the necessary support.

As key stakeholders in the health and well-being of our community, we are reaching out to you, the City of Columbus, Franklin County Health Department, and local community health agencies. We believe your organization can support immigrant women by addressing their unique challenges.

·        By expanding access to multilingual, trauma-informed mental health services, we can significantly improve the well-being of immigrant women in Columbus

·        Increase funding to trusted community-based organizations such as CRIS, ETSS, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services (ETSS), and the Ohio Hispanic Coalition

·        Provide culturally competent outreach and support through partnerships with immigrant communities

Mental health is a fundamental human right. Columbus must ensure immigrant women can access safe, inclusive, and effective care. We urge you to consider taking immediate action on this pressing issue.
