Support Knaphill FC’s Bid to Secure Brookwood Country Park Pavilion!
The Issue
Who is affected?
Brookwood Country Park Pavilion is vital for the local community, grassroots football, and schools. It is an essential facility for youth sports, school activities, and regional events. However, without a clear plan for its future, there is a risk that it could be neglected, underutilised, or even repurposed away from community use. If this happens, local children, families, and community groups will lose access to a safe and structured environment for sport and recreation.
What is at stake?
Knaphill Football Club (Knaphill FC) has stepped forward to take charge of the Pavilion through a Community Asset Transfer (CAT). This means that instead of the Pavilion’s future being uncertain, Knaphill FC would actively manage, maintain, and improve the facility, ensuring it remains a community-led resource rather than being lost or falling into disrepair.
If successful, Knaphill FC will:
- Ensure long-term investment and maintenance, keeping the Pavilion in top condition.
- Expand access for local schools, grassroots sports, and community events.
- Develop new programs that encourage participation in football, fitness, and community well-being.
- Make facility upgrades to create a more inclusive and high-quality space for all users.
If this transfer does not go ahead, the Pavilion could become unused or fall into neglect, meaning fewer opportunities for children, families, and sports groups.
Why is now the time to act?
Woking Borough Council is currently reviewing applications for the Community Asset Transfer, and this is our opportunity to ensure Brookwood Country Park Pavilion remains in community hands. Knaphill FC is ready and prepared to take responsibility for managing the facility, but we need public support to show the council that this is what the local people want.
Signing this petition sends a clear message that the Pavilion should remain a community-focused space, managed by Knaphill FC for the benefit of local schools, sports clubs, and residents.
Every signature helps us prove that this space matters—let’s act now to secure its future!
