As a student, I rely heavily on jeepneys for my daily transportation. They are not only a vital part of our community's infrastructure but also a significant part of our culture. Unfortunately, many jeepney drivers are currently struggling to make ends meet due to various factors such as rising fuel prices and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jeepney drivers work long hours under challenging conditions, yet they often earn less than the minimum wage. According to a study by the International Labor Organization (ILO), most jeepney drivers in Metro Manila earn below PHP 500 per day after deducting their expenses (ILO, 2017). This is barely enough to support their families and cover their basic needs.

We believe that these hardworking individuals deserve better working conditions and fair compensation for their services. Therefore, we call upon local government units and transport authorities to take immediate action towards improving the livelihoods of jeepney drivers.
