Support Inclusive Remote Work: Empowering Parents and Individuals with Disabilities

The Issue

This is personal to me as the mother to a toddler son on the Autism Spectrum who was also born with Congenital Hypothyroidism and two small heart defects. It is crucial that employers offer Remote work options to disabled individuals and parents of children (including adult children) with special needs or disabilities. For roles that do NOT require physical labor or hands-on services, providing this accommodation to employees is both reasonable and necessary.

Individuals with disabilities or parents of children with disabilities should be extended these options without any discrimination or compensation reduction, provided they meet minimum performance expectations.
