Support for Tonya Vander Meer

Support for Tonya Vander Meer
The Issue
We, the undersigned staff of UC Davis Medical Center, would like to express our strong support for Tonya Vander Meer and the positive impact she has had on our unit.
We respectfully believe Tonya should maintain her position and not be terminated. We ask that her longstanding contributions, character, and the meaningful impact she has had on our team be taken into consideration.
For nearly 20 years, Tonya has demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a deep commitment to both patient care and staff well-being. As a DAISY Award recipient, she exemplifies compassion and excellence in nursing leadership. She fosters a culture of trust, fairness, and collaboration, ensuring staff feel heard, supported, and empowered to provide safe, high-quality care.
Tonya has supported staff through personal and professional challenges, including helping navigate leave during times of family illness. Even while facing her own personal hardships, she has remained dedicated to supporting the unit and maintaining a positive, cohesive work environment.
We appreciate her leadership and stand in support of her.
