Petition: Support a Community Hall in Naas

My name is Vinod Pillai, a Peace Commissioner for County Kildare and an active member of the Naas Indian Community, Naas Cricket Club and Badminton club.

Through cultural and sporting activities, I engage with people from many nationalities who proudly call Naas home.

Despite being a diverse and growing town, Naas lacks a dedicated community hall. Local cultural, sporting, and community groups struggle to access suitable spaces, as existing halls are often unavailable or fully booked. This limits opportunities for community events, cultural celebrations, and inclusive social activities.

A community hall in Naas would provide a shared space for cultural events, sports activities, meetings, and programmes that promote inclusion and social cohesion. It would strengthen community ties and enhance the cultural life of the town.

We urge the Irish Government and Kildare County Council to support the allocation or development of a community hall for Naas and its surroundings.
