On the last day of school (6/16/2023) three Highland Elementary teachers were alerted by the Bend LaPine School District that they would have a change of position in the 2023-2024 school year.  These teachers are expert and tenured Storyline Method teachers and beloved in the Highland Elementary community.  Becky Eriksson, Alicia Vickery and Cami Green have made an indelible mark on the fabric of our school and in the lives of countless students in the cumulative 60+ years they have dedicated their lives to education at Highland Elementary.  

Nationally and locally we have a major teacher shortage.  We need to protect and support the highly qualified teachers that are already in our children's schools.  

The Bend LaPine School District and School Board should reinstate Becky Eriksson, Alicia Vickery and Cami Green to their tenured teaching positions at 1st, 4/5th and 4/5th grades at Highland Elementary in Bend, OR.
