The Issue
Douglas Vance was wrongfully convicted in 2022 of a non-violent white-collar crime and sentenced to 14 years in prison. He was torn away from his family for something he didn’t do. Shockingly, evidence that clearly demonstrated his innocence was dishonestly hidden from the court and jury by the prosecutor and an FBI agent, compromising his right to a fair trial. When Douglas chose to take his case to trial, rather than accept a plea deal for a crime he didn't commit, he became a target within a system that punishes those who seek justice and truth.
The system, in this instance, failed Douglas by discarding essential evidence and allowing deceit to steer the course of justice. Innocent until proven guilty is a principle we esteem in this country, yet it was utterly disregarded in Douglas’s trial. The unfairness of this conviction calls for urgent intervention and correction.
Every day in prison is a day stripped away from the life and family Douglas cherishes. Justice must not rob a man of his life, especially when the substantial evidence in his favor was wrongfully suppressed. It is time to correct this miscarriage of justice before more irreparable harm is done.
Please support Douglas Vance by signing this petition, writing to President Trump for a commutation or pardon, and sharing this message widely. Your voice can bring Douglas the justice he deserves and highlight the critical need for transparency and truth within our justice system. Act now to make a difference.
