A band of students at Frostburg State University are concerned for one of our favorite professors, Prof. David Atenasio who teaches in the Philosophy department, with many of those classes incorporating Law and Society majors as well. We have heard word that the Philosophy department's budget is being cut, and that leaves his job in jeopardy. 

     This is something that we as students care about deeply. Professor Atenasio is one of the greatest educators at this University, and it would be a crime for him to lose his opportunity to connect to and inspire other students the way that he has done for everyone he has taught. Professor Atenasio is incredibly passionate about what he teaches, and passes on that passion to all of us as well. Going to his class is not something that we feel is just a means to receive our diploma, but something that teaches us real life skills and inspires us to learn. By signing this petition, we all agree that Professor David Atenasio is the kind of professor that students need in order to fully succeed after our educational journey is over. Getting rid of him would not only harm the Philosophy and Political Science departments, but the future inspiration of Frostburg students as a whole.
