Cunningham at South Park Middle School in Corpus Christi, Texas hosted their homecoming dance on 10/19/2022. Permission slips were sent out prior for parents/guardians to sign as well as collect a $5 fee. Upon arrival at todays dance many students were turned away for having one (1) or more unexcused absence or for being in In School Suspension (ISS). This information was not on the permission slip and was only provided on the schools Facebook page. Upon arriving many students were turned away and the school refused to provide a refund. When parents asked about why the information was not on the permission slip school administration and staff said it was the child’s job to rely this information. The school has many students and many which are impoverished. Some students parents struggled to provide a new outfit and money for admission. Please help us get these students their rightful refunds.
