Support building a public covered equestrian arena in Temecula
The Issue
I am reaching out to you as someone who cares deeply about the equestrian heritage of our community here in Temecula. Situated in Los Ranchitos, one of the most historic equestrian neighborhoods, the city has proposed the development of a piece of land that holds great potential for us all—both equestrian enthusiasts and the broader community. Imagine an arena where we could thrive without the relentless heat of summer or disruptions from rainy weather. A covered arena on city land would allow us to ride, train, and showcase, regardless of the climate. This isn’t just an enhancement; it’s a necessary addition to sustain and grow our passion for equestrian activities in this unique horse-loving city. Besides comfort, a covered arena opens access to our local trail system to those who currently can't enjoy it due to the lack of a staging area. This project is about expanding horizons and attracting equestrian trail usage, which fosters economic growth and puts Temecula on the map as a premier destination for the equestrian lifestyle. Consider the long-term value of preserving Temecula’s equestrian roots. Providing a dedicated space for horse-related activities helps protect the traditions that shaped our community and keeps our city welcoming to responsible equestrian use. A public arena would support riders of all ages and experience levels, encourage education and stewardship, and reinforce Temecula’s identity as a horse-friendly town—while allowing local families and visitors alike to connect with the western heritage that makes our community unique. A public covered arena would serve as a flexible, multi-use community facility that supports Temecula’s equestrian heritage while also providing space for a variety of low-impact, family-friendly activities. In addition to responsible equestrian use, the arena could host youth programs, educational workshops, vendor markets, wellness classes, community gatherings, agricultural demonstrations, and small local events—creating opportunities for community engagement and modest revenue generation. By offering a designated, managed space for these activities, the city can better support recreation, education, and preservation of Temecula’s western roots while ensuring thoughtful scheduling and respect for surrounding neighbors. I urge you to support this initiative—not just for the current generation but to preserve and bolster the equestrian culture for future generations. Our open spaces and connecting trails need your support! By signing this petition, you are contributing to a cause that will benefit countless individuals and families who cherish and invigorate our city with their love for horses, as well as helping show the city council how much interest our community has in this project. Help us make this vision a reality. Please join me in supporting the creation of a public covered arena in Temecula. Sign the petition today and become part of our movement to foster growth and enhance our community's equestrian legacy.
