Support Anti-Bullying Legislation in Honor of Aubreigh Wyatt
The Issue
Our story begins with a personal experience, not dissimilar to what many others have faced. Both I, and Aubreigh Wyatt, have become victims of a societal malady - bullying. The harsh reality is that one out of every five (20.2%) students report being bullied (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2019). This statistic is too colossal to ignore.
Aubreigh Wyatt, a vibrant young light, was extinguished far too soon due to the relentless bullying she encountered. Her story serves as a chilling reminder that words can indeed harbor the power to wound, often more deeply than any physical strike. Bullying can lead to dire psychological and emotional consequences, and in this case, it has claimed innocent life.
Sadly, this is not just Aubreigh's story, or mine; it's the story of countless silent victims who suffer the torment of bullying daily. In response to this growing issue, it is compellingly evident that measures have to be put in place to forestall bullying and its dire consequences.
This petition calls for the implementation of more stringent anti-bullying legislation to ensure that all students can learn in a safe and welcoming environment. By championing such regulations, we honor the memory of Aubreigh Wyatt, and give hope to all those who currently endure what she once did.
Please join us in this vital cause. Stand with us in support of anti-bullying legislation. Lend your voice to the silent victims by signing this petition.
