The Issue

Alberta, a province known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant communities, has long felt the heavy hand of the federal government. Many residents, including myself, believe that Alberta is being treated unfairly, with resources taken and little in return. The time has come for Alberta to consider its future - should it stand on its own as an independent entity or seek to become the 51st state of the United States?

In our current situation, federal policies often clash with Alberta's values. We believe deeply in freedom, the celebration of our unique culture, and traditional family structures. Yet, federal decisions frequently overlook these core beliefs. Many residents feel that resources are being misallocated to political agendas that do not align with our values, such as funding sex and gender diversity programs, at the expense of necessary infrastructure and public services.

Alberta's push for greater autonomy isn't just about political differences—it's about ensuring that our hard-earned resources are utilized to benefit our communities directly. The federal government seems to pull more from us than it gives back, leaving our schools, healthcare, and other vital programs underfunded while Ottawa prioritizes programs that feel foreign to us.

Considering independence or statehood is a significant step, but it may ensure that Alberta thrives economically and culturally. Our province would gain more control over its resources, allowing funding to be redirected into programs that align with our community values - from sustainable development projects and healthcare enhancements to education reforms and traditional family support structures.

The time has come for Albertans to voice their vision for the future. Signing this petition is a step towards exploring how Alberta can achieve the autonomy it deserves. Let us decide whether independence or joining as the 51st state of the US is the best path forward for Alberta's proud and resilient people.
