Support Aisha: Stop the Defamatory Smear Campaign
The Issue
This is the story of Aisha Gawad, an award-winning CT based Muslim-American author and teacher, who has been maliciously targeted by a defamatory smear campaign. This vindictive movement aims to tarnish her reputation and ultimately deprive her of her livelihood, under the false pretenses of antisemitism. Already, this baseless campaign has cost Aisha her artist-in-residency at Wilton Public Library in CT. We firmly denounce this pernicious campaign.
We view this as not just an attack on Aisha, but as a threat to the principles of freedom, love, and peace. It is deeply concerning that a mob can be mobilized using false charges to damage someone's life. This smear campaign, fueled by a mischaracterization of her actions, seeks to harm Aisha unjustly by creating a false narrative of her being antisemitic.
In the spirit of justice, we demand her employer, the Greenwich Academy, support Aisha amidst these ungrounded accusations. We also request her reinstatement as an artist-in-residence at the Wilton Public Library. Denying these false claims is not just about defending one person, but also about affirming our commitment to freedom, understanding, and fair play in our society.
Please join us in denouncing this defamation campaign against Aisha. Every signature can bring us one step closer to justice. Let's show our solid support for Aisha, and prove that we will not stand for such baseless and harmful accusations. Sign our petition today.
