We are asking for your support in bringing the Serenity Garden Community Garden to our town — a peaceful, inclusive, and community-centered space designed to benefit everyone in Pound, VA.

A public hearing will be held on May 19th at 6:30 PM, and we would greatly appreciate in-person support from members of our community. If you are unable to attend but would still like to support the creation of the community garden, please sign this petition and share it with others.

Our vision for Serenity Garden is simple:

To create a welcoming public space where citizens of all ages can gather, relax, learn, grow fresh produce, and strengthen community connections.

This garden would provide:

• Free locally grown produce for community members
  Educational programs and workshops for children and adults
• Gardening, composting, canning, and sustainability classes
• Community events such as Yoga in the Garden, Harvest Festivals, Berry Picking Days, and Paint in Nature activities
• A peaceful green space with picnic areas, benches, pollinator gardens, bird baths, and walking areas
• Opportunities for local schools and families to become involved
• Support for native plants, wildlife preservation, and sustainable living

The produce grown in the garden would be available free to the community, distributed through local food assistance efforts, produce stands, and community harvest opportunities.

There are currently over 18,000 successful community gardens operating across the United States, many of which provide free produce and educational resources to their communities. Community gardens are proven to strengthen neighborhoods, improve access to healthy food, increase community involvement, and create safer, more enjoyable public spaces.

Our dedication to this project comes from a genuine desire to improve and support the town we call home. This project is rooted entirely in supporting our town and creating something positive, sustainable, and beneficial for everyone.
