Most, if not all of us, are aware of the poverty that exists in the 'third world', but are we aware of the poverty that is on our own doorstep?  There are so many people here in the UK who are in desperate need of help; whether it's due to unemployment, issues with benefits, being a victim of domestic violence or just being on a low income but people are simply going hungry.  This should not happen in this day and age.  

Supermarkets are starting to get involved with food banks, but given that so many of us buy our groceries online, I want the supermarkets to allow us to donate to local food banks when we buy our food online.  Either by adding specifics to our order which are then collected by the food bank each day/week or by choosing a specific amount of money to donate and the food banks can choose what they want based on what they require any any given time.  The basic ranges from each of the supermarkets cost so little, I'm quite sure we can all (even those who earn very little) afford to spend an extra 20p on our online shop to help someone in need.
