We must send a message to our community and specifically, the youth of this country that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be tolerated. We cannot allow this teenager to be able to take life with little to no consequences.  The family of the victim is sentenced to live a life without their loved one. What hope does our community have that more people will re-consider their actions if consequences for such a negligent decision are so light?  What message do we send to society about the use of drugs and/or alcohol?  What message do we send to the family who unjustifiably suffers for the rest of their days?  What do my own older teen children have to learn from this injustice?
