The injustice of standardized testing

The injustice of standardized testing
The Issue
The problem that I want to solve is the injustice of standardized testing. Which we could temporarily solve by extending the test-optional policy of Fall 2021 to further years or to eliminate standardized testing. The problem of standardized testing generally affects people who are of a lower socioeconomic status and of the minority. These people often go to schools where standardized test curriculum isn’t taught efficiently and the school’s resources are too little. Which puts these students at a disadvantage. While wealthier schools have an advantage, which widens the score gap.
I want to solve this problem because some people from the minority and low-income communities do not get to have a higher education than secondary education (high school) because they often cannot afford to take standardized tests more than 1 or 2 times due to the cost and the resources to teach standardized test material are way too costly, ranging from $45-100 per hour, which people of low-income backgrounds cannot afford. Which leads to people of low-income and of color having a disadvantage in college admissions. The people affected by this problem are generally left with few options. The curriculum in schools of low-income isn’t efficient enough for students to learn the information and tricks in depth. Compared to wealthy schools where there are more resources for their students to learn how to potentially score higher in the SAT or ACT.
In Conclusion, I would like to solve the problem of standardized testing because it creates unfairness in the college admissions process. Where most low-income students and students of color, which typically come from lower-income families, are more likely to be rejected due to having a lower SAT/ACT score. This is unfair due to how low-income schools have fewer resources and lower level curriculums compared to wealthier schools. We can solve this problem by eliminating standardized testing in college admissions altogether or by extending the test-optional policy.
