We, the undersigned, parents and taxpayers, respectfully request that the secondary school children of Rockville Centre NY are given the opportunity to receive full time in-person instruction. 

Rockville Centre Schools have a reputation for excellence that drew many of us to make our homes in this town. Other Nassau County school districts have shown a commitment to returning to full time instruction for secondary school children, and we ask the Rockville Centre school district to make the same commitment to the middle and high school students in this community.

The Covid positivity rate is declining on Long Island and statewide, educators now have access to vaccinations, “high risk” sports are beginning, and other restrictions in the community at large are being loosened. 

In light of these positive signs, evidence that Covid spread is minimal to nonexistent in schools, and the dire consequences of hybrid on adolescents’ academic, physical, social and mental wellbeing, the BOE and Superintendent Chang must act now to return secondary students to school full time this spring.
