On top of tuition, our school requires us to purchase a $75 dollar parking pass in order to be able to park on campus for class. However, only one parking lot with about 30 spots is located on upper campus. (N-2) While there are 8,000+ students attending our college, there are more spots for staff/faculty parking then there are for commuting students, especially on upper campus. This needs to change! Many students would benefit from opening up another parking tier near old main, (N-3), as it is unreasonable to park near professional studies to go to class in Moffett, especially at night when it feels unsafe or the snow. The upper tier lots near old main are usually vacant most of the time, and it’s unfair that students have to miss or show up late to class due to poor parking accommodations. We pay enough through tuition and parking passes, we shouldn’t have to pay $25 for parking in an empty lot so we can be on time for class!
