Stop proposed planning on Rainton Meadows Green belt

Oppose and prevent the proposed residential development off Mallard Way, Rainton Meadows (Durham Wildlife Trust). The proposed development will build on current Green belt near the Durham Wildlife Trust, one of the best pieces of Greenland in the area. This would have severe impact on the local community with current shortages of local services such as Doctors schools and not to mention an increase on the already crowded roads. The proposed land is a natural flood pain and if this was to be built on would increase the flood risk to the community surrounding. There is also a severe risk granting this planning proposal could have on the wildlife that use this area as their habitate. Recent sightings which have been seen over that exact plot of land include a short eared owl preying for food and according to RSPB site they prefer to hunt in wetlands and are listed as being in decline.
