I am a progressive American patriot, profoundly committed to the building of a more perfect union where 'We the People' is inclusive for all. The current political climate is putting this goal in urgent jeopardy. Our democracy, which we so tirelessly strive to uphold, is under threat from the ongoing coup. Now, more than ever, we need to urge our elected officials and community leaders to take immediate and decisive action.

This is why I'm calling upon them to organize a Blue State Summit. This initiative will focus on the protection of democracy within our states and the development of plans for mutual support. The purpose is to reinforce our resilience against oligarchic tendencies and to build a systematic opposition to the undemocratic practices currently in progress.

According to the Freedom House report in 2020, the U.S came in 53rd place out of 165 countries, falling below most established democracies. This is alarming and underlines the necessity of our actions, more than ever.

Our collective action can and will make a profound social difference in the current political landscape. By uniting our voices, we send a clear message that we stand for a more perfect union, an inclusive and functioning democracy.
