The idea is to broaden the material used for Driveways.  In an effort to do this there would be more driveways finished which overall would give the neighborhood more curb appeal and in time raise home values.  The existing guidelines call for use of only aggregate or stamped concrete which have both become the highest cost form to finish a driveway in. (Which was not the case at the time when the bylaws were created)  Many other neighborhoods have adopted a broader set of guidelines while still providing a great looking neighborhood.  We would hope to do the same.  And so far research is showing most HOA guidelines basic rule is “No Gravel”. Which is not what we are proposing a change to, just opening up acceptable and more affordable options to what we have in the hopes that more people could finish their driveway in a fashion and style suitable to them.

Knowing that several people already have aggregate we also know that they have cracks and will be in need of replacement at some point.  And most that I have talked to are open to more options that might also be longer lasting and not crack/deteriorate over time.

This would also in time cut down on all the gravel in the roads, which causes us all an issue when a stone ends up in our windshield.  The idea of this petition is to see if there is enough interest to explore the issue and options more in the goal of bringing a change to the current bylaws to a vote. 

The attached photo is just one example of a more modern look.  If this petition has enough support there will more more examples and options presented.
