Justice for Domestic Assault and Harassment survivors!

The Issue

I am starting this petition because I believe that us women dealing with domestic assault and harassment deserve justice, the abusers deserve discipline and consequences for there actions! Our court system needs to stop letting them get away with ruining peoples lives. Abusers don’t deserve to just get probation and just a couple months in jail to get out and do it all over again, seriously? That is like a slap on the hand for them and a slap in the face for us victims of the abuse. The father of my child beat me up from head to toe, he choked me out, and locked me in his house, and took my phone on multiple occasions so that I couldn’t get help, he has threatened to kill me or show up at my residence at the time, he has also threatened his 2 year old daughter saying “ I will smash your head through a wall if you do not stop crying” I’ve been harassed off 50+ different numbers and yet I’m still being subpoenaed to court for more evidence of harassment, how is this fair? I shouldn’t have to explain how much he messed me up and how much I fear for my life and fear having to send my daughter to see him one day because she is her biological father! Abuse can be anything from control and verbal abuse to physically assaulting someone and it is not okay! We deserve more rights, we deserve more justice. Please help me make sure that this man doesn’t not get away with his actions, please help me make a change for us victims of such horrible offence.
