Open up Trabant/Perkins meal exchange for the entirety of the day
Underclassmen at the University of Delaware are required to purchase an on campus meal plan, giving them access to dining halls and restaurants. There are three dining halls, Caeser Rodney, Russell, and Pencader. With some of the restaurants at Trabant/Perkins including Chic-fil-a, Greens to Go, Flip Kitchen, and more. While students have access to food throughout the entire day at the dining hall, they can only exchange 1 meal at Trabant or Perkins from the hours of 5 to 8 pm. If students want to eat at these restaurants during the hours before 5, they have to use their dining points—which vary based on the meal plan purchased. The dining halls serve a rotation of the same food over a semester, often resulting in students wanting more options. Thus, leading them to use their points at restaurants in Trabant and Perkins. Additionally, some students need to grab a quick bite in between classes throughout the day and do not have time to walk to a dining hall, forcing them to use points for breakfast or lunch. Once the students run out of dining points, they can only eat at these places in the hours of 5 to 8 pm.
With this in mind, changing the hours for meal exchange at Trabant and Perkins will make student living experiences more enjoyable. It will allow students to have more freedom in their food choices. Students will be able to eat what they want when they want without any restriction!
