Western Oregon University has made the decision to hold our 2020 graduation ceremony through a virtual format to support social distancing during this difficult time. However, this is not the only alternative solution to holding a ceremony for WOU’s 2020 seniors.

Instead, postponing gradation could mean holding a ceremony at the end of summer 2020 or at another time that fits best for the university (such as  making October Homecoming a full ceremony). Seniors have spent so many years working diligently and looking forward to this moment of recognition for all their hard work, they do not deserve a virtual representation in its place. 

Please sign this petition if you are a student, know a student, or used to be a student at WOU and believe that WOU should reconsider their decision, allowing seniors to give input for postponing 2020 commencement.
