As of November 12, 2020, the students of William Paterson University received an email stating that 1,000 and 2,000 level courses are allowed a Pass/No Credit option. These classes are occupied predominantly by freshmen and sophomores. That leaves juniors, seniors, and graduate students in 3,000, 4,000, and higher level classes, left to struggle.

All members of the William Paterson community are battling this pandemic and struggling just as much as freshmen and sophomores. We understand that 3,000 and 4,000 level courses may affect the strength of a degree when applying to grad schools, but the real solution lies within how adequately our advisement aligns with our future goals.

We ask that the Pass/No Credit option be extended to all course levels. Juniors and Seniors have been overlooked during this pandemic and systematically, for years. With the finish line in sight, we need more support than ever. We do not want to suffer from negligence.
