Remove Tincubate from WaterlooWorks

The Issue

This past week, Marianne Bell, Founder, and COO of Tincubate posted a video to social media belittling a University of Waterloo student for their academics and work experience in their co-op application to Tincubate. In this video, Marianne Bell goes through aspects of an applicant's marks, work term ratings, and skills explaining why they are "red flags" as a student. This is a real student who took their time and limited applications to apply to Tincubate. As a co-op student, I understand when a hiring manager is not interested in my application due to not meeting the criteria. However, to have a company that is posting it to social media to ridicule the resume of a student whose situation you know nothing of is something I cannot stand for. As a student at the University of Waterloo, I know how difficult it can be to learn new skills, do great work on co-op, and create an exceptional resume all while juggling the pandemic and up to 6 courses. The University of Waterloo decided in the past to let Tincubate post to the university's internal job board (WaterlooWorks) where students are told only reputable co-op placements will be posted. I ask the University of Waterloo to reconsider letting the company post on WaterlooWorks and have created the following petition to be sent to CECA to show that the student body also feels that they should be removed.
